Broadgate House, our home, is less than three miles from the M3 in a quiet semi-rural setting. You will find it named clearly on an Internet map. It is set well back from the road and its half acre of garden overlooks fields and gentle hills. Our guests over the years have particularly commented upon its peaceful, restful ambience and the clear sense of God's presence.
THE STORY SO FAR
We have offered individual stays, group bookings and special event weekends over the last ten years. We have run the project with the trustees from the beginning, and aim to provide relaxed hospitality and good home cooking which has brought many favourable comments. Many individuals and groups have returned for second and subsequent stays.
TIME FOR CHANGE (see the next page for more details)
Recent concerns about John's health have made us realise that now is the time to retire in the next year or two and pass on Hebron to the next generation or an organisation which feels called to serve in a similar way. The trustees agree with this move and believe that God is showing us that now is the time to search for new owners/trustees. If you are a church in need of a centre out of town, a community searching for a home, an individual or couple with a vision, or an existing charity in need of new premises, now is your opportunity to take a step.
We will continue to provide space for church leadership teams, Alpha days or weekends, individual retreats, prayer ministry, friendship groups, house-group away days, organised prayer days and house-parties in the short-term, but we would hope that the next stage becomes clear during 2012.
The emphasis here will always be on Jesus Christ whom we love, trust and seek to serve, and who we hope is at the centre of all we do.
Hebron is interdenominational and uses the same basis of faith as the Evangelical Alliance in the UK.
